Tietoja minusta

I have vast experience in child welfare work. I have worked in private- and public sector government owned foster homes as well as non-custody social service. I have also expertise in being a support person, support family and in counseling youth with needs in social support in school, as well as in free time.

My personal expertise falls in social strengthening, the furthering of sexual health education and neuropsychiatric coaching, especially with children and teenagers.

I began my career in business, but I moved to social work and I worked in a non-profit organization as head of operations for many years. These days I still enjoy lending a hand as a volunteer in that same organization. Currently I work as a freelancer, working with a vast amount of different kinds of teenagers, with different kinds of problems, all of whom need assistance in getting through tough times, as well as with multifunctioning networks of professionals.

I started as a private entrepreneur in May 2018 and I’m still running that.   My main tasks relate to Children's rights (including asylum seekers) but I do work with families too.

Other services I’m providing:

Supervision provides professionals, practitioners, managers, teams and workplaces a contractual, supportive and developmental process to explore and learn in practicing, working and collaborating. Supervision facilitates reviewing work-related experiences, emotions and challenges and finding a new perspective on them. Supervision is offered to individuals, groups or organizations.

My way of working is client-oriented; The client is an expert in their own work. I start my supervision process by going through the priorities and aiming towards a goal set by the client. My approach is gentle but sturdy, focusing on gender, sexuality, culturally sensitive, resource-oriented, solution-oriented, client-oriented subjects.

Neuropsychiatric coaching is a guiding and goal-oriented rehabilitation method aimed at clients with specific neuropsychiatric difficulties.

The term neuropsychiatric refers to psychiatric symptoms characterized by neurological  origin.

The aim of neuropsychiatric coaching is to support the everyday and life management skills of people of different ages and at different stages of life, the development of new positive practices and the building of a positive path for life. The aim of the training is to learn new ways of managing the best possible independent life. The subject of the training can be almost any aspect of life from caring for yourself and the home to a relationship.

Neuropsychiatric coaching is based on linguistic communication and requires some degree of ability from the client to observe and evaluate their own activities.

My motto:
“Every person receives the right to be their own person when born, nothing should be allowed to take that away"

I have lived in Auckland, New Zealand 1992-1993 because my ex-husbands work. Our son Emppu was a baby back then.

After New Zealand we moved to Bangkok, Thailand for a three years period and I gave a birth to our younger son there.

In 1995 we moved to Kuala Lumpur, Maleysia for a seven months and suddenly my husband was invited to work to Istanbul, Turkey. I went to work there too. I was an office-coordinator in Nokia. We stayed three years in Istanbul.

Once more we did move to abroad; to Budapest, Hungary 2000-2003 and then I started my studies and my career direction changed.  I had seen a lot of injustice and inequality. I wanted to do even a little to influence things that even one person would be better off.

On that career direction I am still, now in Finland for many years.

Yours sincerely,
